GfK U.S. Healthcare Companies Announces Executive and Senior Leadership Appointments

New President Named at GfK Strategic Marketing; Senior Vice Presidents Join GfK Market Measures and GfK V2

BLUE BELL, PA, April 5, 2007 — The GfK U.S. Healthcare Companies, the largest custom healthcare marketing research provider in the United States, recently announced the following leadership appointments for its family of companies consisting of GfK Strategic Marketing, GfK Market Measures, and GfK V2.

GfK Strategic Marketing named Brian Hull, M.B.A., company President following the departure of Marty Glogowski, who last month announced his retirement.

Hull has worked in all aspects of global primary marketing research in the pharmaceutical industry. He spent the last five years working at GfK V2 as an Executive Vice President, where he successfully grew and led a strategic business unit. Prior to working at GfK V2, Hull spent the early part of his career at Migliara/Kaplan Associates where he became a Senior Vice President and led multiple strategic business units. He also played a critical role in the successful development of a start-up Internet primary marketing research firm, where he was responsible for business development and led the creation of a new Internet sales force and message effectiveness methodology. Hull holds a Masters in Business Administration from Indiana University.

GfK Market Measures appointed Bill Bowman, J.D., as Vice President of Oncology and Jenny Donohue, Ph.D., as Senior Vice President, Multi-Client.

As Vice President of Oncology, Bowman leads a dedicated business unit that will support the company’s strategic efforts in this rapidly growing area of research. In his new role, Bowman, who has more than 15 years of oncology experience, is responsible for developing syndicated products for oncology and serves as a key in-house resource for custom marketing research studies involving cancer therapies.

In his 25-year career in the pharmaceutical industry, Bowman has been a marketing researcher, product manager and sales representative with several major pharmaceutical manufacturers and supply-side firms.

Prior to joining GfK Market Measures, Bowman most recently served as an independent marketing research consultant working in partnership with oncology product teams for several of the industry’s most successful cancer therapies.

Dr. Donohue has more than 25 years of experience in conducting marketing, economic, quality of life and health policy research for pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, government and research institutions. Over the last 10 years, she has founded, grown and successfully sold two companies: Competency Assessment Solutions, LLC, a software and services company that provides Web-based performance appraisal and learning management solutions to health care institutions, and Consumer Health Sciences, the “gold standard” in patient reported health care information products and services for the pharmaceutical industry in the United States and Europe. Earlier in her career, Dr. Donohue worked on the client side of the business, holding senior level marketing research and branding positions at Johnson & Johnson and Merck & Co. She holds a Ph.D. in Social Research from Bryn Mawr College.

GfK V2 named Andrea Alfonsi, M.B.A., Steve Finestone, M.B.A., and Howard Jaffe, M.S., as Senior Vice President and Strategic Business Unit Heads.

Alfonsi’s primary research focus is in the biotech and specialty pharmaceutical sector. She is well-versed in a variety of techniques ranging from exploratory qualitative to highly complex quantitative methodologies and is known for her expertise in using research to build and evaluate successful brand strategies in areas such as market assessments, new and supplemental indications, positioning, competitive activity, segmentation and messaging. Prior to joining GfK V2, Alfonsi led a team of client service and research professionals at Ziment, where she spent the last nine years. She holds an M.B.A. with a Marketing concentration from Drexel University.

For the last 10 years, Finestone has worked with a variety of pharmaceutical and biotech firms as President of SZF Associates, Inc., his own healthcare marketing research and consulting firm which specialized in new product research and promotional analysis. Prior to founding SZF Associates, Finestone spent eight years on the client side of the business as a Market Research/Business Planning Analyst, Manager and Director at Wyeth specializing in areas such as new products, women’s health, cardiovasculars, CNS, pain and arthritis and pediatrics. He holds an M.B.A. in Marketing and Finance from Cornell University.

Jaffe brings unique insights to marketing research projects by incorporating his career experiences in areas such as pharmaceutical sales, advertising and marketing.

As a quantitative researcher, he has developed new approaches to understanding treatment algorithms, identifying and measuring brand opportunities and patient archetypes. He is also experienced in qualitative methodologies with an emphasis on early product development, branding, positioning and advertising research. Most recently, Jaffe worked as Vice President/Account Executive at The Mattson Jack Group and also held a similar role at TNS Healthcare. Prior to these positions, he served as Vice President and Head of U.S. Operations for Genactics, Inc. Jaffe holds a Master’s degree in Biology from Villanova University.
